Benton is located in northern Columbia County on State Route 487. The Benton area was first settled by two families in 1792. A schoolhouse was opened in 1799. Starting around 1860, tanning and lumber industries began to grow north of the borough. Today, the Borough is the hub for many events like outdoor recreation, shopping, local events like the Benton Rodeo and Fireman’s Carnival. Established in 2009, this group provides live stage entertainment; murder mystery dinner theater, dinner theaters, comedies, dramas, kids shows, fun for all ages! Looking for people to participate. Come out and have fun! Audience participation is welcomed. New people welcomed! We normally hold a Spring and Fall Show with all volunteers.
