2023 Columbia-Montour Visitors Guide

Knoebels Amusement Resort

Knoebels Amusement Resort features 63 rides, a crystal pool, dozens of games & gift shops, hundreds of campsites, a golf course and more. But it all began with a swimming hole. In the summer of 1925, the popular summer spot was Roaring Creek, which still runs through the center of Knoebels today. Everyone splashing around in the swimming hole gave Henry Knoebel an idea. He began construction on a large swimming pool in the same area where the crystal pool is today. And with that swimming pool, Knoebels opened on July 4, 1926. That same year, Henry added a restaurant and a steam-powered carousel. Over the past 97 years Knoebels has added the rides, food, games, and camping visitors now know and love, while still holding on to its family friendly beginnings with free admission, free parking, free entertainment, and free picnic facilities. With something for kids of all ages (or just the kids at heart) Knoebels will become a cherished tradition for your family! Knoebels now features family fun, no matter the season. The amusement park is open the last weekend in April through the last weekend in September, followed by a spook-tacular Hallo-fun event on weekends in October. And the park’s newest addition is Joy Through the Grove, a drive-through Christmas light experience, open nightly after Thanksgiving.
